“Tanabata Festival in YNU" was held

On Friday, July 4th, we hosted the "Tanabata Festival in YNU," an event where international students could enjoy Tanabata traditions together.
On the day, not only current YNU students and international students participated, but also children from the Mori no Luna Nursery School located on campus enjoyed Tanabata decorations and writing their wishes on colorful strips of paper (tanzaku), celebrating the festival together.
Some shared how nostalgic it felt to fold origami again, and the sight of students earnestly writing their wishes alongside the adorable smiles of the children created a lively and heartwarming atmosphere.

This year, for the first time, we recruited Japanese student volunteers to teach origami to international students and decorate together.
Although Japanese and international students usually spend time on the same campus, they do not have many opportunities to get to know each other casually. This year's event provided a good chance for both sides to exchange words. We would like to continue to offer such opportunities for exchange in the future.

May wishes on the tanzaku strips reach the starry sky.
