President, Yokohama National University

Dear New and Current YNU Students

In light of the spread of the novel coronavirus, we have decided to postpone the start date of the Spring 2020 semester to May 7. It was a hard decision to make when we think of our new students looking forward to campus life at our university as well as our current students with a determination to work hard in the coming semester. However, we at Yokohama National University give the first priority to providing quality education in a safe and secure environment to support your visions and desires, and to progress together. We plan to start administrative programs and procedures for the new semester on April 1, but on a smaller scale and a gradual basis to minimize infection risks. These include orientations for new students, where we will distribute a student ID card, English placement tests, orientations for each grade, and course registration.
